The saga of counterfeit medication continues in Lebanon. The minister of Health shut down 8 pharamcies (and 4 medical supplies warehouses) that sell counterfeit medications, among which Plavix, an anticoagulant. Yet the closing of these pharmacies is only temporary and it is here tha the problem lies: A pharmacist that is willing to trade health for money is playing with life and hence should have his/her licence revoked. A simple temporary suspension will not do. I paste below and article that I wrote a few years back and that was published in Annahar Newspaper in the hope that it might not fall on deaf ears this time.

ReplyDeleteYes, this is not right. These pharmacies should be closed. They are killing people and they are trading with medicines!
ReplyDeleteThe pharamacies should be closed for good! This is another form of murder. Pharmacists should have their licence taken away from them as well!
